POSITION OF ALABAMA KID AND THE MANAWATU ASSOCIATION. ACTION BY NEW ZEALAND COUNCIL. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The New Zealand Boxing Council at a meeting last night, decided to suspend lhe licence of the Alabama Kid for a fortnight. In that peroid he will be given an opportunity to state his case regarding his alleged breach of contract with the Manawatu Association in connection with lhe contest with Strickland on Boxing night. The Manawatu Association also is allowed a fortnight in which to show why it should not be penalised for a breach of the rule in respect to contracts entered into with Strickland and the Alabama Kid.
