GIFT TO BRITAIN

MADE BY SUDAN GOVERNMENT. GRATITUDE FOR EXPULSION OF ITALIANS. The British Secretary for War. Mr Margcsscn, the 8.8. C. reports, has received a gift of £lOO,OOO from the Sudan Government in recognition of the recapture of Kassala and the expulsion of the Italians from Sudan territory, and in gratitude for the co-opera-tion of the British Imperial forces with the Sudan Defence Force. In acknowledging the gift, Mr Margesson said the Imperial forces were proud to be associated with the Sudan Defence Force.
