AHMV CANDIDATE CAMPAIGN
MARBLES, QUOITS AND DARTS.
COMING CHAMPIONSHIP
CONTESTS.
Entries are coming in steadily at the office of Mr. S. V. Gooding ’for the Wairarapa marbles, quoits and darts championships which will begin in the Town Hall. Masterton next Wednesday evening. Men and women and boys and girls are entering freely in the competitions, which will be run in sections.
A reminded is given that the concerts arranged by the Army Queen Committee will be hold in country districts. as follow:—Mauriceville, Thursday, February 13; Gladstone. Saturday. February 15; Kaituna, Monday, February 17; Tinui, Saturday, February 22. The committee organising these concerts is enthuiastic, and gratified by the array of talent which it has been able to mould into an excellent concert combination. All the functions will take the form of combined dance, concert and general carsival evening, with novelty attractions in addition. Owing to unforseen circumstances the Te Ore Ore Maori Party will be unable to present a concert in Queen Street tonight, as had previously been arranged. Beauty Contest. Unusual interest is being taken in the Beauty Contest and Mannequin Parade, which will be held shortly to further the candidature of the Army Queen.
NURSING SERVICES QUEEN MEETING THIS EVENING. A meeting of those interested in the Nursing Services Queen will be held in the Red Cross Room (Park Street) at 7.30 tonight.
