CONCLUDING DAY.
CHAMPIONSHIP AWARDS
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) FEILDING. February 5.
After yesterday's heavy showers, line weather favoured People’s Day at the Feilding A. and P. Association’s annual show, which concluded today. The attendance was greatly improved. visitors attending from over a wide area. An official luncheon was held for the High Commissioner for the United Kingdom in New Zealand. Sir Harry Batterbee, the visitors being received bj’ the president of the association, Mr. W. G. Booth. Mrs. Booth, and stewards of the association. Also among the official. visitors were the Leader of the Opposition. Mr. Holland, the M.P. for Manawatu, Mr. Cobbe, and the M.P. for Rangitikci, Mr. Gordon, together with the chairmen of the Manawatu, Oroua, and Pohangina counties, Messrs. W. E. Barber, A. Campbell, and S. Strahan. Later the show was officially opened by Sir Harry Batterbee, who expressed himself as greatly impressed with all that he had seen at the fixture.
Additional championships were awarded as follow:— SHEEP. Romneys, open section.—Ewe and reserve: A. L. Wheeler. Scuthdowns. open section—Ram and reserve: J. Knight. Ewe: .1. Knight; reserve, G. W. Munford. CATTLE. Fat steer and reserve: T. A. Duncan. HORSES. Hack: Mrs. R. Perry’s Laughing Chief.
