THE BRITISH AND HELLENIC CONVENTION. EXTENSION OE FACILITIES FOR STUDY. (British OfTicial Wireless.! RUGBY, February 3. The closer cultural relations foreshadowed in lite recent preliminary announcement of a British-Hellenic convention are seen more clearly in the details of the convention issued today. In addition to the exchange of university professors and other men of Ivarmn;;, modern Greet; i?i p, be regarded ns ranking with other major European languages as a possible examination subject nt the Universities of Oxford, Cambridge and London, while the study of the English language and literature will be facilitated at Athens University. The Briti; h School of Archaeology at Athens, established in lllSti. will be permitted to function in Greece, permission for tin- establishment of new centres being sought when desirable from the Greek Government. Treatment equally favourable in both countries will be extended to scholars, students and teachers in respect if rc-.’idencc and employment permits and recognition of either country's degrees and diplomas will be mutual.
