The commission of inquiry set up by Government, to investigate the alleged leakage of information regarding shipping movements and the circumstances surrounding the loss of the Holmwood. Rangitane, Vinni and Komat.a, began its sitting in Wellington today. Mr Justice Callan is chairman and 'lie oilier members are Mr T. F. Anderson. Secretary to the Seamen’s Union. Auckland; Captain F. A, MacIndoe, Secretary to the New Zealand Merchant, Service Guild; the Hon. William Perry. M.L.C.. and Captain E Rotherham. R N After hearing representations by .Mill H. Cornish, the Solicitor-General who with Dr Foden, of Crown Law Office, is assisting the commission. and by Mr Walsh, the National President of the Seamen’s Union, the commission decided that the balance in favour of public interest lay in holding the proceedings in camera
