This trophy was given by the Duke on his visit to New Zealand and is for competition among amateur riders. This season it will be competed for at Washdyke Night Trotting. Under the heading of ‘•Trots and War Funds” the following appeared in the “Sydney Sunday Telegraph” the other day: The chief secretary 'Mr Tonking) has been asked to permit night trotting meetings with betting, proceeds to begiven to war funds.
