Another successful exploit by the Greek submarine Papanicolis—the sinking off Brindisi of a 10,000 ton Italian steamer escorted by warships—is reported by the 8.8. C. On Christmas eve the Papanicolis torpedoed and sank three Italian supply ships totalling between 25.000 and 30.000 tons. The submarine on that occasion was attacked by Italian destroyers, but got away safely.
