'By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright NEW YORK. January 31.

In the scheduled 15-round match for the world's heavyweight title, the holder. Joe Louis G4st. 611 b.) knocked out Red Burman <l3st. 41b.) in the fifth round.

Smeared with blood, the challenger was wilting to the floor from a hard right smash to the stomach in the fifth round, and as he fell Louis gave a coup de grace with a left hook to the head. Burman received an ovation because he made one of the most determined efforts against Louis. He forced the fighting, but Louis gave the more damaging punches.
