Stevens was the guest ofj honour. There were about 40 ladies j present. The rooms had been beauli-! fully decorated with bowls of dahlias| and hydrangeas. Bridge was played in the diningroom and had been arranged by the Flunkct Bridge Players’ Committee, i Mrs Vile, president of the Plunketj Society, presented Mrs Stevens with a’ pair of white doeskin gloves on behalf j of the players. Mrs Vile stated that! Mrs Stevens had been the promoter ol the bridge parties held for the purpose j cf raising money for the Society. They all felt that they would like to show; their appreciation of the services ren-j dered by Mrs Stevens on the eve of! her departure from Greytown. Mrs Stevens suitably replied and thanked Mrs Vile for holding the party j in her house. The winner of lhe bridge tournament i was Mrs F. C. Bunny. Mrs A. Haighj won the hidden number. Afternoon leal was served in the drawing room.
