COSY THEATRE
-PUBLIC COWBOY NO. 1." Tonight the latest production featuring everybody's favourite. Gene Autry, will come to the Cosy Theatre. A delightful mixture of spirited adventure on the range and favourite melodies rendered in the star's best style makes this one of the most popular of all the great series. The police laboratories’ latest manhunting weapons are excitingly utilised in Columbia's action-packed melodrama, “The Secret Seven." the associate feature. Pulsating with thrills and suspense, the film tells in breathtaking fashion how a group of scientists banded together as “the secret seven" to track down a band of inhuman criminals. Florence Rice, playing the only female role, turns in another one of her top performances, as Lola Hobbs, daughter of an old fashioned police chief. Barton Mac Lane, beloved of action fans, plays a gangster beerbaron in his usual rousing two-fisted manner. As a recently released convict turned detective-chemist, Bruce, Bennett gives a splendid performance i in his first featured part. Here's a young actor who should be watched. For the verve and breath-taking pace of “The Secret Seven," much praise should go to director James Moore. There’s no doubt you'll be immensely thrilled by this film.
