STRUCK BY ROYAL AIR FORCE
AT ITALIAN HOME BASES
AND IN AFRICAN THEATRES. RAIDS ON NAPLES & SICILY. An R.A.F. communique from Cairo, transmitted by the 8.8. C., reports widespread raids on Italian bases in Southern Italy, Sicily, and on all African fronts and fighter patrols in Albania.
On Monday night, British bombers attacked the aerodrome at Naples. One large building was set on fire and a number of other fires were caused on the aerodrome. Other aircraft attack-
cd the central railway station and marshalling yards at Naples, causing fires and violent explosions. Two bases in Sicily, behoved to be used by German dive bombers, were attacked. One aeroplane on the ground was burnt out and fires occurred in buildings on the south side cf one landing field. Violent explosions also occurred.
