PATRIOTIC CARNIVAL
NURSING SERVICES’ QUEEN SUBSTANTIAL OFFERS OF HELP. Canvassers for financial support for the Nursing Services’ Queen will be in the field within the next few days and judging from the enthusiam displayed at last evening’s meeting of supporteds she will be a powerful claimant for the honours. Mr. J. Jamieson, chairman of the Queen Carnival Committee, presided, and explained the general organisation ci’ the Patriotic Carnival up-to-date. Other members of the Patriotic Committee were present to answer questions and make helpful suggestions. The offers of help already received from all sections of the community are an indication of the popularity of the nursing services.
I It was decided to call a meeting to- ; morrow, Friday, at 7.30 p.m. for the ! purpose of electing officers, delegates land sub-cmnmittees to organise the nu- ! merous activities suggested. Full par- ; oculars are advertised on Page 2, I ARMY QUEEN. BOTTLE DRIVE. On Saturday, commencing at 1.30 p.m. a bottle drive will bo held in aid of the Army uQcen. If bottles are left at the gates of houses Boy Scouts will collect them. An endeavour is to be i made to secure 50.000 bottles. AIR FORCE QUEEN. A bring-and-buy day has been organised by the Air Force Queen committee. and the supporters of Miss Hosking are asked, to give the effort their fullest co-operation, as it is in a worthy’ cause.
