Mr Fraser said his attention had been drawn to remarks relating to leakage of information from this country. made by Captain James H. Miller, in the course of an address to the Christchurch Returned Soldiers' Association on Monday. Captain Miller was stated to have said that the Government. to whom he had retwrted that there was a leakage of information concerning shopping from this country, had informed him shut it was impossible tor such a thing to take place. Mr Fraser said that he was quite sure that Cajstain Miller’s remarks had been misunderstood, as he was certain that no member of the Government could have or would have made any such statement As a matter of fact, die Government had taken a very serious view of the statements previously made by Captain Miller. Captain Upand other officers and members of crews anti passengers on the ships attacked by the raiders, to the effect that information regarding the movements of shipping had been leaking out and getting into the hands of enemy raiders operating in the South Pacific, and eonsetpiersfly had called for a full report from the Navy.
