TAKING UP NEW SHARES REMITTANCES PERMITTED FROM N.Z. STATEMENT BY MINISTER OF FINANCE. • Tiy Telegraph—Press Association.* WELLINGTON. This Day. The Reserve Bank of Now Zealand .announced today that the Now Zealand Stock Exchange Association had been advised that, in view of the special circumstances of the new issue of Broken Hill Proprietary shares to existing holders, arrangements have been made on the following basis. to enable those New Zealand holders who so desire to take up their rights:— (1) Holders may at their discretion use either Australian balances hold by them or the proceeds of the sale of their Australian marketable investments. other than Broken Hill Proprietary shares, (2) Holders who have no other Australian investments or balances will be* allowed to remit from New Zealand. (3) Holders whose other investments and balances are together insufficient to provide the requisite amount will be allowed to remit the difference. Persons who, for the purpose of the above arrangement, desire: — A, to dispose of Australian securities, should consult their brokers: B, to operate on their accounts in Australia, whether by cheque or other authority, should apply to their bankers for the necessary certificate; C. to remit from New Zealand, should apply for a permit through their bankers. If the reason for the application is that applicant has since June 18, 1910, voluntarily remitted funds to New Zealand from Australia, that fact should be stated and such applications will be treated on their merits. The above arrangement is exclusively to enable holders to take up the new shares to which they are directly entitled by reason of their own existing holdings of Broken Hill Proprietaiy shares.
