M* J. 11. Lowe, manager of the Union Bank of Australia, Hamilton, will leave shortly on transfer to Newcastle, New South Wales. Mr Justice James Mcßeynolds, of the Supreme Court, has forwarded a letter to President Roosevelt announcing his retirement on February 1, a Washington cablegram states.
Mr J. B. Thorp, who has been manager of the Marton branch of the Union Bank for the past 10 years, has. been promoted to audit officer. His successor is Mr G. G. Newell. Wairoa. The death occurred suddenly at his residence, 84 Marne Street, Palmerston North, of Mr P, Harvey, formerly Ins|,ec|or of Police in that city. Mr Harvey, who was 70 years of age. had lived in retirement since he left the Police Force about six years ago.
Welcome news of the safety of Sergeant A. Barnett Wilton, who is in Sialagluft Camp. Germany, has been received by his parents, Mr and Mrs F. J. Witton. Kopanc, Manawiitu. Sergeant Wit ton. who was engaged in long-distance bombing operations over Germany, was posted missing on September 28. The information was received by Mr and Mrs Witton through a relative. Lieutenant J. Ross-Duggan, America. They have been advised that their son is "safe and sound”
