Tiie Masterton borough roll, in 1938. contained 61G3 names. Of that number. 17-12 of those on the residential 1 roll failed to vote and in consequence I their names have been removed from I the roll. Following the despatch of no’ices stating that these names had been deleted, some have since applied for reinstatement. In 1938 the supplementary roll contained about 360 names and these persons. if they voted on the last occasion, have been included ie. the genera! roll foi- t'ne forthcoming eleelmns. Ratepayers' names are transcribed j into the ratepayers' roll and it is not ' necessary for those possessing rate- i payers’ qualifications to make applica-: I tion for enrolment, as the ratenayers j roll is revised at each election by the addition of the s'ames of those who| have acquired rateable property.
