New Brighton went on to meet Munns's unbeaten Canterbury four, which had a bye. The other semi-final game produced an easy win for Blenheim tMitchel skip) who beat Hawera (Haslin skip), 22-15.
Playing conditions were dillicuil with a strong southwester blowing across the lino of play.
In the pairs semi-final Canterbury (Williamson and Joseph), the only local team left in. beat Hutt i Piper and Hadwin). 19-18.
