STATE THEATRE

“FOREIGN CORRESPONDENT." The packed audience at the State Theatre on Saturday night had a programme of an exceptionally high standard presented to them. Heading the bill of fare was a magnificent production “Foreign Correspondent.” depicting a series of the most thrilling episodes founded on outstanding incidents associated with the present world conflict. The spectacular adventure and the love and romance presented in “Foreign Correspondent,” provided a picture that will long be.talked about in Masterton, and supplied proof of the reason for the long run it has had in the chief centres. The audience derived great pleasure from the picture as it provided a clear insight into many war issues, and supplied them with a romantic story that appealed. Thrill followed thrill in one of the greatest pictures ever to be shown at the State Theatre. "Foreign Correspondent” has in its principal roles Joel McCrea, Laraine Day, Herbert Marshall. George Sanders, Robert Benchley, Albert Basserman, Edmund Gwenn, Harry Davenport and Eduardo Ciannelli. Most elaborate and extensive settings constructed for any production in Hollj - wood in several years are those pro-, vided as backgrounds for “Foreign t Correspondent." The subsidiary char-, actors are rich in interest and the acting of the whole cast is splendidly done and brilliantly directed. Ihe featurettes are of a particulaily appealing nature, and include Call For Arms," Aussie News and the “Arabian Bazaar." "Foreign Correspondent" will be shown again tonight.
