PERSONAL

Mr Maurice Halo, of Palmerston North, celebrated his 94th birthday on Saturday. Fur a long period of years, until he retired, he was engaged in farming. There was a large attendance at the funeral on Saturday afternoon of the late Mrs Mary Ann Coe. of Masterton. The Rev, Taepa officiated at the house and at the graveside. The Women's Division of the Farmers' Union and members of the Masterton Towns--women's Guild, besides others, sent floral tributes. Messrs C. N. Cole. R. Foster. IL Coe and J. Coo were the pall-bearers.

1 After being in ill-health for some time. Mr Henry Arnold, Otorohanga. died at the Waikato Hospital at the age of 73 years. Mr Arnold went to the Otorohanga district, about twenty years ago, and took up farming at Rangiaten. on the property now owned by Mr A. G. Wellington. Previously, he had been for some years clerk of the course! for the Wellington Racing Club. Mrj Arnold gave up farming about two! years ago. and went to Otorohanga tai live in retirement. I

The death has occurred in Napier of Mr George Theodore Lawlor, at the age of 51. He was a son of Mrs K. P. Lawlor and the late Mr T. Lawlor, of Hastings, and was born in To Aroha Shortly before the last war he joined the staff of the Hawke's Bay Farmers' Co-operative Association. He went overseas with the Main Body. On his return to the Dominion he resumed his former employment and was placed in charge of all building operations for the Hawke's Bay Farmers' Co-operative Association.

The funeral of the late Mr J 1) Goodall, of Maslerlon, took place on Saturday afternoon, there being a re-

presentative attendance of mourners, including members of the R.S.A. and the South .African War Veterans’ Association. 'The services al the Chajwl and at the graveside were conducted by the Rev, Tnejxi. Among the wreaths was one from the South African War Veterans’ Association ' Wairarapa branchs. The pall-bearers were Messrs S. Fletcher. J. V. Dolan. H M. Buddington. L. Barnes. J. Ducket’ and A: H. Marsh.
