OBITUARY MR JOHN McPEAK. ("Times-Age" Special.) Tlie kite Mr John McPeak, whose death occurred at Woodville at the age of 87 years, was a native of Swatragh. County Londonderry. Ireland. As a

young man he spent some years work-

ing at blast furnaces in England prior to coming to New Zealand 63 years ago. He worked in various parts of

Canterbury and Wellington prior to acquiring land at Mauriceville West. He subsequently took up land in the Eketahuna district and later farmed at Maharahara West, this being about 45 years ago. Eighteen years ago he went to reside at Woodville. He maintained

an active interest in farming operations until about three years ago when ill-health compelled him. to retire. Mrs McPeak predeceased her husband three years ago. He leaves two sons (Messrs John McPeak. Troup Road. Woodville, and George McPeak. Maharahara), and one daughter 'Mrs P. O’Connor. Woodville). There are nine grandchildren. A brother resides in Melbourne. One son, the late Albert McPeak, was killed in the Great War. and another, Charles, met his death as the result of an accident at Darinevirke 11 years ago.
