BRILLIANT SUCCESS GAINED BY GREEKS

•yi <* s/1 • /*< s i town oi Klisura captured FOLLOWING ON STORMING OF MOUNTAIN HEIGHTS I ENEMY LEFT FLANK LAID OPEN I The Greeks, in their thrust towards Valona, have gained another brilliant, success in the capture of Klisura, a 8.8. C. broadcast states. The event is being celebrated in Greece with the ringing of bells and in Athens the King - and General Metaxas were greeted, when they appeared together, by crowds of cheering people. The capture of Klisura, which stands 30 miles north of Argyrokastron, follows on the successful storming by the Greeks of the high mountain peaks commanding the town, a task made much more difficult by the bitter weather. General Metaxas stated that the Greeks had not only taken the town of Klisura, but the mountain pass in its vicinity. Klisura is of great strategic importance in being the junci tion of roads leading to the inland town of Berat and to the enemy supply base of Valona. The defence by the Italians of the town of Tepelene, ten miles west of Klisura, is now made extremely difficult, as the Greek entry into Klisura has uncovered the enemy left flank. The Greeks have taken 600 prisoners at a point ten to fifteen miles north-east of Klisura. An unconfirmed report, states that another Italian ship laden i with war material has been sunk in the Adriatic.
