Mr Harry Hopkins (President Roosevelt's envoy» informed the. Press that his visit would not lasi less than two weeks and probably not more than four.

“1 shall stay until the job is finished." he said.

In addition to an interview today with Mr Eden and Lord Halifax. Mr Hopkins had a long and confidential talk while lunching with Mr Churchill. Mr Hopkins expressed optimism as to the outcome of the war. about which he said he had never had any misgivings. He revealed that industries were rapidly being adapted to .the needs of circumstances and that a complete and maximum effort was being attained-—between American labour and executive business —regarding the war production of the United States, as well as those of Greece and other countries. Mr Hopkins expressed the opinion that Viscount Halifax would be “a very groat successor" to Lord Lothian.
