January 9 An Air Ministry and Ministry of Home Security communique states: •■Shortly before dawn this morning, a single enemy aircraft dropped bombs in Kent. No one was hurl and no damage was done. “During daylight there was some slight activity over this country, mostly near the east and south-east coasts, but no report of bombing was received from any area.
