Trentham Riders. Trench Fight will be ridden in the Wellington Cup by C. T. Wilson and Schoolgirl by A. Mcsscrvy. Wind Up At Trentham. Not Out was given a working gallop over a mile at Riccarton yesterday in 1.53 1-5. Lord Midas accounted for Gold Nugget over six furlongs home in 37 1-5. Not Out. Gold Nugget and Salutation were shipped north last night in charge of F. Roberts and will have their winding up work at Trentham.

Should Run Prominently. Density, who looks exceptionally bright after her holiday since November. ran half a mile in 48 1-5 at Riccarton yesterday. She should race prominently at Trentham.

Grey Night attracted attention on the track at Riccarton yesterday by reeling off six furlongs in 1.15 1-5. Ho appears to be one of the best prospects of the Riccarton contingent for next week's racing at Trentham.

Wellington Cup Favourite. The three-year-old Kindergarten, who is an early favourite for the Wellington Cup. is to leave Auckland for Trentham today. All has gone well with Kindergarten since he won the Great Northern Derby, and on several mornings lately he has been taken to Avondale for special gallops on the plough. The manner in which Kindergarten has won at his last four starts has left no doubt that he is well above the average and his prospects in the Wellington Cup appear very bright.

May Not Start in Cup. Not Out. a Wingatui winner at a mile, is bright and' well for Trentham engagements. Though he was nominated for the Wellington Cup. he is an unlikely starter in that event, but he will be seen in other events later in the meeting. Old Bill. In view of an important engagement at Trentham, Old Bill claims a lot of attention when he appears on the tracks at Awapuni. Piloted by G. R. Taltersall he put lot of dash into a five-furlong flutter on the plough this week, and was anxious to go, on. Moradabad. Moradabad had her first race over the hurdles al the Woodville, meeting and finished fourth. At Marton she notched third money, but on this occasion there was room for improvement in jumping. In her schooling lessons the daughter of Bulandshar has given stylish exhibitions. Especially well developed, and with a conformation on racy lines, all that is needed to make, a fair hurdler is experience. Her next outing under the colours will be at Ashhurst meeting, and she can be licked oil as one likely to be hard tn boat.

Gladynev’s Owner Dead. It was a striking coincidence that a few days after the arrival of Gladyncv in New Zealand the death should occur of his owner, Mr Colin W. Anderson, of Auckland. Mr Anderson was well known in Auckland by reason of his association with the Civic Theatre. He took a keen interest in horse-racing. One of the first horses to carry his colours in the Dominion was Mithra, a two-year-old filly by Australian Sun from Bonum. who was bred in Australia. Mithra won two juvenile events at Takapuna, in 1928. She subsequently raced in Australia and won there for Mr Anderson. Vali. a three-year-old by Valkyrian from Potona, won the New Zealand Si. Leger Stakes, one mile and three-quarters, at Trentham, and proved himself a very good handicap horse j He also raced in Australia, but did noli do much good there. Gladynev lasti season won the Norman by Handicap i one mile, and the Nathan's Handicap j one mile and a quarter, at Ellerslie : while he was third in the Wellington! Centennial Cup last January He waw handicapped at 6.7 in the Caulfield Cup! last October, and Mr. Anderson decidw cd to send him over. with tile n-.-u!’. ■ that he was just beaten by Bojmhvre. | another New Zealanders Gladynev; was to have contested the Wellington i Cup next week.
