U-BOAT DESTROYED

AFTER CHASE BY BRITISH SUBMARINE DIRECT HIT ON CONNING TOWER. NO DAMAGE OR CASUALTIES ON PURSUER. A British submarine has sunk an armed enemy vessel by gunfire, making a direct hit on a U-boat. The German submarine made off at high speed and was chased by the British submarine for nearly an hour, when a direct hit was scored on the conning-tower of the U-boat. No damage or casualties were suffered by the British boat.
