The Meteorologist Observatory reports that December in France was the coldest for fort}* years. Madrid has almost no telephonic communication with the outside world. Frost has killed sixty per cent of the crops in the province of Castellon. An icy hurricane and gales ravaged orange and olive crops in Eastern Spain'. Several cargo vessels and trawlers wore lost.
