Palmerston ' North, today, when the major event of j the tournament, the North Island Piping Championship, was won by W. LinI ton. Carterton. The number of entries j constituted a record, and competitors . were present from as far away as North Auckland and Timaru. The majority of the events were won by visitors. Wellington entrants being specially successful. The judges for the dancing were Mrs. J Braid (Manaia) and Miss M. Waugh (Christchurch). The piping judges were Messrs. A.
