FORTHCOMING GATHERING SCHEDULES AVAILABLE. DAVID GUILD MEMORIAL TROPHY Schedules for the fifty-fourth annual show of the Masterton A. and P. Association, to be held at the Solwaj Showgrounds on Tuesday and Wednesday, February 18 and 19. are now available. All entries will close or. Monday. February 3. The various sections embrace the usual comprehensive range of stock classes, including sheep, cattle, horses, pigs and other exhibits At the forthcoming show, the David Guild Memorial Trophy, valued al £5O. will be competed for for the first time. It will be awarded for most points in all sheep, cattle, and pig classes. Other special prizes added to the schedule include a lOgn. cup donated by Mr T. A. Brown for the best ram lamb in the unhoused and unrugged R.nmC' Marsh section; a special cash prize of £2 2s. donated by the Hereford Breeders' Association for the best yearling Hereford bull and special prizes of £1 Is each, for the best heifer Milking Shorthorn calf and for the best bull Milking Shorthorn calf respectively. donated by the New Zealand Millting Shorthorn Association. An addition to the horse classes is a class for a school team of three ponies, to be the property of children attending the same school, io be judged on general appearance The winning team will receive 7s 6d each member and the second team 5s each member, the prize money having been donated by Mr L. Meredith. In addition to the day session, the show will be open on the evening of Tuesday. February 18. at which exhibits in the poultry section will be on display. Many attractive events have been arranged fo the night show, for which the grounds will be brightly illuminated with electric flood lights. Copies of the schedule may be obtain from the secretary.
