ORDER OF ODD FELLOWS LOYAL HEART OF OAK LODGE. ("Times-Age" Special.) The fortnightly meeting of the Loyal Heart of Oak Lodge was held last evening. Sister F. Eagle. N.G., presiding. , A vote of condolence was passed to Bro. E. B. Eagle, of Marton, in the death of his mother. of the Wellington District Association wrote soliciting tne nomination of officers for the ensuing twelve months. The following were nominated: —Vice-pre-sident, Bro. T. H. Norris; auditors. Bros. G. Bell and J. W. Russell; management committee, Bros. S. Eades. G. W. Leggett. T. H. Norris. R. Riddel]. J. W. Russell. N. J. Sherwood. R. Cook, and Sister E. R. McFarlane. Sick pay amounting to £lO was passed for payment. The secretary’s action in issuing a letter of recommendation to a Sister who is visiting Auckland, was endorsed. P.G. Bro. A. R. Tankersley forwarded fraternal greetings to lodge members as he was entering camp. BOUND FOR CAMP SEND OFF TO TROOPS. There was a large attendance of Carterton and district residents at the railway station yesterday afternoon when a number of Carterton soldiers entrained for the Trentham Camp. Prior to the arrival of the train, Piper J. Mansel played a number oi Scotch airs on his bagpipes. As the train left the station the soldiers were given three hearty cheers. BOWLING CHAMPION FOURS. There was a good number of spectators present at the Carterton bowling green last evening to witness a game for the champion rink badges played between the holders and challengers from the Greytown Club. The green was very fast. After five ends had been played the challengers captured the green and for a succession of eight heads scored 12 points to their opponents 5. As a team the visitors outbowled the holders and the running and driving shots of the Greytown skip, Higgison, were outstanding. It was principally due to his good generalship that the badges returned to Greytown. The following were the players and the scores: Dcnnes, Burden, McLeod, Higgison (s) challengers beat Bain. Underhill, Harrington. Tucker (s) holders. 22/7.
BOY SCOUTS MEETING OF CITIZENS’ COMMITTEE. In the absence of the chairman. Mr C. E. White presided over a meeting of the Citizens' Committee of the Boy Scout Movement held last evening. There were also present: Messrs Fairbrother (Scoutmaster), H. T. Ray, Boden, Banks, C. J. DeLacey, R. Clapp, Mesdames M. E. Eagle, A. Thompson and Miss Eagle. Accounts amounting to £2 8s were passed for payment. The question of whether it was advisable to continue the card parlies during the summer months was discussed. It was decided to continue as usual and that the matter of supper tor special occasions be left to the Scoutmaster to arrange for the parents to provide the same. Mr W. S. Stevens was thanked for! a donation of a cake which was disposed of by tickets, the sum from J which amounted to £3 2s. Mr C. E. Stevens was also thanked for a monetary donation. The naming of a shield that had been given by an anonymous donor was left to Messrs Fairbrothcr, Ray J and White. The result in connection with the Scout Den Christmas Cave was favourably commented upon. The sum obtained was over £26. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded the Scoutmaster and all who assisted to make the effort such a successful one. • .<\ Personal Items. .Mr and .Mrs E.
