“KIT CARSON.” i A stirring chapter out of the making I of the western portion of the United | States is unfolded in the Edward I Small production, "Kit Carson," which i will be shown tonight. This i production, an epic of frontier life and bravery, concerns the adventures 1 Lf Kit Carson, the famous Indian; j fighter, in the days when America wasj * youpg. The film features Jon Hall in i the title role, with Lynn Bari, Dana | Andrews, Ward Bond, Harold Huber, j I Clayton Moore and Rowena Cook. The i story opens on a note of excitement; when Jon Hall, as Kit Carson, to-1 gether with Harold Huber and Ward j i Bond as his companions Ape and; | Lopez are attacked by a band of | | marauding Indians. The friends i (manage to escape, and return to Fort’ Bridger, where they are mot by Gen- j oral Fremont, played by Dana! Andrews. Fremont tells Carson that! he is the only man who could possibly I guide his party through the dangerous Indian country to the promised land I of California. Carson refuses, because! * of the danger to the women find chil- i i dren in the party, but his mind is i changed when he meets Dolores I Murphy, one of the group, played by the beautiful and talented Lynn Bari. The adventures with redskins and the forces of the treacherous Castro encountered on route to! California, furnish the vividly thrill- f ing action of the story. The warm j human interest of the rivalry over; Dolores adds a compelling touch to i the exciting adventures of the ( courageous band of pioneers.
