“BEWARE SPOOKS.” The splendid double programme headed by •'Beware Spooks" and "G;rl From God's Country," will be finally shown tonight. "BLOCK-HEADS." Hilarity reaches a new height in. Laurel and Hardy’s comedy hit. "BlockHeads." which will be shown tomorrow night. "Block-Heads" starts with a tangy breeze of mirth and ends with, a whirlwind of insanity .one of the most ludicrous finales that has ever graced a Laurel and Hardy product. Interspersed arc rare gems of comedic and pantomimic arts. Gags are fresh and frequent. Action goes along with a refreshing spontaneity and the players react with apparent enjoyment. Stan Laurel impersonates America's mar. of the hour, whose in, st recent exploit has made the front pages of the country's newspapers Oliver Hardy, once his war buddy, hastens to invite the hero to share his home, but his wife has other ideas. With domestic bickerings and misinterpreted friendships throwing the pair mto a welter of mirthful woe. Laurel and Hardy muddle through in their own inimitable style to a gloriously funny conclusion. The other feature is "Too Hot to Handle," featuring Clark Gable. Myrna Loy. Walter Connolly and Leo Carillo, is a brilliant comedy romance. Action ranges from New York and Shanghai to the high seas and Dutch Guiana jungles. Gable plays a newsreel cameraman, Miss Loy an aviatrix. She flys on a mercy mission, and Gable in quest of a "scoop" manages to bring about a cracktip. She pilots him in an ancient "crate" while he films a blazing liner from the air. He stands amici bombs to film Oriental warfare. There is a hoax expose and out of it a romance. Walter Pidgeon plays Gable’s principal rival. Walter Connolly and Leo Carrillo the two important comedy roles.
