Following on the dismissal yesterday afternoon of 140 chamber hands, ow- ■ ing to a dispute regarding Sunday ' work, new labour was called this i morning by the Auckland Farmers' , Freezing Company and sufficient men i were engaged to ensure work over the weekend at the Export Wharf and the King's Wharf. In response to an advertisement in the daily newspapers for men prepared to accept employment as chamber hands, over 120 men had been engaged by 11.30 this morning and more probably will be engaged this afternoon. up to a total of 140. Included in the men engaged are some regular chamber hands, who indicated yesterday that they did not want to! cease work.
