PRESENTATION TO.MR L. EMERY. GATHERING AT "TIMES-AGE'' OFFICE. Members of the stalls of the "Wairarapti Times-Age’’ and "Wairarapa Daily Times” companies gathered] around the “ilone” this morning to! farewell Mr L. E. Emery, foreman of] the "Daily Times” jobbing department. o;i the eve of his entering into camp] with the fifth reinforcements. Mr; Emory volunteered for overseas scr-] vice many months ago. "It is with regret that I address you' this morning, for we have assembled toi say goodbye to an esteemed member of the ‘Wairarapa Daily Times’ Coy’s stall, in the person of Mr L. Emery.” said Mr D. 31. Graham manager of the "Daily Times” Co. "I have been, closely associated with Mr Emory during the] course of his business career and desire: to place on record my knowledge of his; very high qualities, "Mr Emery, the staffs of both companies were determined that you! should have some token of their esteem I and have asked me to hand you this! parcel.'' said .Mr Graham. "The 'Daily; Times’ Co. also desires te convey its: deep appreciation of exeeodingly valuable service and ns some small token, i ot esteem 1 hand you. on behalf of the! company, a small cheque. Wishing you, Mr Emery, the best ot luck and a safe return, I ask those present to voice their support with three cheers.” Mr 11. Price, of the ‘'Daily Times” jobbing department referred in the happy association he had had with Mr Emery extending over the past 14 year*’. Mr Emery expressed Ins appreciation of the generosity of the "Daily Times' Company and of the eo-uperatlon of the "Tinies-Ago" Company during hii 2t) years’ service. He thanked those nmcerned for the gifts and the sentimen's accompanying them.
