On the occasion of the arrival in Italy of some sections of the German Air Force, the Under-Secretary for Air. General Pricolo. has published an order of the day stating that the German contingent will participate in the air and naval struggle in the Mediterranean. Italian planes from the English Channel coast, it is stated to the number of several hundreds, are returning , and are henceforth to be used against! Greece and also in the Western Des-! ert. General Pricolo added that Ger-! man planes probably would be in ac- ; tion. especially’ against British ship-i ping in the Mediterranean, although! they are likely to participate in attacks’ against Greece and Egypt. One group j cf Italian chasers is to remain on the 1 , Channel coast. The Gorman General Kesserling has sent a letter to the Italian air comman-i der. General Fougier. praising the bravery of Italian pilots .in the bombardment of England. He announced ! that the "Alderschild" decoration hadl been conferred on all members of the] Italian air corps participating in flights j over England. VETERANS ONLY TO BE SENT TO ITALY. (Received This Day, 12.5 p.m.) | ROME. January 2. I General Pricolo. in his order of the| day, states that only veteran German 1 air units can be sent, to Italy. He said: I "They must be considered as a large Italian unit.’’
