Much material ami a number of tanks were captured or destroyed. The heavy fighting in the coastal sector north-east of llimara increased during a New Year’s Dav battle.
The Greeks report the capture of a fortified position westward of Pogradec.
Progress along the shores of Lake Ochrida is difficult because of the intense cold and deep snow. Moreover, the Italains are still holding some important high positions, but tl\ey do not seem to be confident about retaining them and much of their equipment is being withdrawn toward Elbasan.
