WAIRARAPA MEETING
LARGE CROWD PRESENT LITTLE ROBIN WINS CUP. A DOUBLE TO SYNTHETIC. ("Times-Age" Special.) Fine, hot weather favoured the first day of the Wairarapa Racing Club’s jubilee meeting which was held yesterday at the beautiful Tauherenikau race-course. There was a large attendance. Patrons were provided with an excellent day’s racing and many exciting finishes were witnessed. The totalisator figures for the day were £12,610 10s on the win machine and £12,506 on the place machine, a total of £25.122 10s. an increase of £2.014 10s on last year. The principal event on the card, the Wairarapa Jubilee Cup, was won convincingly by Little Robin, ridden by P. Burgess.' Little Robin, who was strongb r supported on the totalisator. ran the distance of 1.1 miles in the fastest time since 1929.
The course and grounds were in excellent order and under the efficient direction of Mr N. C. C. Shopherd (secretary) and his officers the programme was run off. smoothly and well up to time.
