'Die Marton Jockey Club's summer meeting opened successfully in brilliant weather and in the presence of a large holiday crowd. Race books sold out before the first race, and there were 1.400 motor-cars in the enclosure.

The principal race the Marton Cup. was won solidly by the favourite. The Buzzer, and Night Eruption, also first choice, scored in the sprint. The track was in excellent order and fast. The totalisator turnover reached £28,034 compared with £22.373 last year, when the betting system was single pool, an increase of £5661. The gate takings also showed an increase of 25 per cent.
