SOMETHING FOR BREAKFAST
SCOTCH PANCAKES. Sift 1 cup plain flour with 1 level teaspoon bicarbonate of soda, 1 level teaspoon cream of tartar, 1 tablespoon castor sugar, a good pinch salt. Beat 1 egg well, add A cup milk, and make into a thick batter. Lastly add 1 level teaspoon melted butter and cook like pancakes. If batter is too thick add a little more milk. Butter and? spread with jam or serve honey or maple syrup separately.
