MAURICEVILLE

PERSONAL ITEMS (“Times-Age", Special.) Mr and Mrs C. M. Clarke are visiting relatives in Palmerston North. Misses M. and G. Hollis, of Roseneath, were the guests of Mrs G. Kent for the weekend. Mrs C. Brash, of Palmerston North. Mr and Mrs G. Corlet, of Masterton. and Mr G. Fraser are the guests of Mrs J. Milner. Mr and Mrs A. Watson, of Trantham, are the guests of Mrs A. E. Clarke, Mauriceville. Mr and Mrs A. Urquhart are spending the holidays with relatives in Mauriceville. Miss B. James, of Masterton, is the guest of her sister. Mrs J. Baine. Mauriceville. Mr and Mrs S. Mitchison have returned to Wellington from a holiday spent in Mauriceville, where they were the guests of Mrs C. M. Childs. Mr and Mrs T. Johansen and family of Eketahuna, are the guests of Mrs E. McKeown. Miss Pat Childs and John Childs are spending the school vacation with Mrs C. M. Childs. Mr and Mrs J. Gilmour are spending a holiday at Hamilton.

On Saturday evening local and Masterton friends gathered at the residence of Mrs G. Kent to bid farewell to Mr H. Askew, of the Railway staff, Mauriceville, who will enter Trentham Camp in January. Mr J. McArley proposed the health of the guest, who was then accorded musical honours. The time was spent in dancing and games. A savoury supper was served., The evening terminated with the singing of "Auld Lang Syne.”
