PURSUANT to Section 8 of the DogRegistration Act, 1908, NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the fee for the registration of dogs for the Borough of Masterton for the year 1941 is now payable to the Registrar of Dogs. The Registration Office appointed by the Masterton Borough Council for the registration of dogs within the borough, pursuant to Section 4 of the Dog Registration Act, 1908, is No. 18 Hope Street, Masterton, the residence of Mr J. W. Henderson, the Dog Registrar. The amount of the fees have been fixed as follows: — For each dog kept solely for the purpose of destroying rabbits or kept solely for the purpose of herding or driving sheep or cattle 2/6 For any other dog 10/In addition to the above, and pursuant to the Dog Registration’Amendment Act, 1937, a fee of one shilling per dog is payable for supply of arecoline hydrobromide (hydatids remedy) for each dog registered, such fee to be paid to the Registrar at the time of registration. For each dog registered for the first time after the month of July, the fees shall be only one-half of the above. The attention of all dog owners is drawn to the following extracts from the Dog Registration Act, 1908: — “Dogs without collars having the proper registration labels thereon shall prime facie be deemed to be unregistered, and any person upon whose land such dog is found, or his agent, or any person duly authorised by the local authority may destroy any such dog. “Any such dog, instead of being so destroyed, may be seized and kept by the police or by anyone duly authorised by the local authority, and if not claimed and the expenses of its keep paid by the owner within seven days from the time of such seizure, may be sold . . . . ” Dated this 31st day of December, 1940. ■ G.
