OPERATIONS IN WESTERN DESERT TWO KILLED, ONE MISSING AND SEVEN WOUNDED. NO WAIRARAPA NAMES INCLUDED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. An official casualty list from the Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force in the Western Desert contains the names of one officer and one driver killed in action. Both were from Wellington. A lance-corporal from Christchurch is missing, and seven men, including three from Wellington, have been wounded. The casualties are as follows:— KILLED IN ACTION. Result of Eneniy Air Bombs. Second-Lieutenant John Thomas Wallace. Mother: Mrs C. P. Wallace, 49 Johnsonville Road, Wellington. Driver Edward William Reynolds. Brother: Mr N. Reynolds, Tramway Head Office, Cuba Street, Wellington. MISSING. Lance-Corporal Vernon Lindsay Norrish. Father: Mr V. A. Norrish, 32 Hendon Street, St. Albans, Christchurch. WOUNDED. Result of Enemy Air Bombs, y Driver lan Elliot Appleton. Father: Mr W. Appleton, 10 Oriental Terrace, Wellington. Driver Edward William Boosey. Mother: Mrs K. Boosey, 9 Pinelands Avenue, Wellington. Driver Alfred Bertram Hurst. Father: Mr G. Hurst, Springtown, Kesh P.C., care Fermanagh, North Ireland. Sergeant Christopher James Mulligan. Father: Mr C. Mulligan, Timaru Road, Waimate. Corporal Osbert Thornton Pussell. Father: Mr O. Pussell, Post Office, Kimbolton. Driver Charles Henry Wall. Father: Mr F. Wall, Nukualofa, Tonga. WOUNDED IN ACTION. Driver Herbert Mark Cox. Mother: Mrs M. C. Cox, 6 Fore Street, Kaiwarra. Wellington. AIR FORCE Sergeant Christopher Falcon Scott, missing on air operations. Father: Mr J. Scott, Raukapuka, Geraldine. Sergeant Alfred Henry Ritchie, missing on air operations. Mother: Mrs M. Ward, 72 Park Avenue, Grey Lynn, Auckland. Sergeant Errol James Peters, killed in an aircraft accident. Father: Mr G. F. Peters, 66 Barrud Street, Dannevirke. Sergeant Herbert Malcolm McGregor English, missing on air operations. Father: Mr E. H. English, Pakaututu Station, Hastings, Hawke’s Bay.

Powick, serving with v the New Zealand forces in Egypt is seriously ill as the result of an acci- ' l fr dent caused by an explosion of a hand- • grenade. He is a popular athlete and represented Buller at Rugby. He is a prominent cyclist.
