ACCIDENT NEAR TAUNTON IN NOVEMBER. DUE TO DRIVER'S LAPSE. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 10.55 a.m.) RUGBY, December 27 The Transport Ministry’s official report on the rail crash near Taunton on November 4. in which twenty-seven weie killed, stated: “The sole cause was an unaccountable lapse on the part of the driver. The breakdown may have been partly attributed to operating conditions in a blackout and general strain which railway servants in common with other members of the community are undergoing at the present time."
