STANDARD PRAISED
EDUCATION IN NEW ZEALAND. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, December 27. Praise of the standard of education received in New Zealand schools was expressed by Mr. Byron E. Mills, assistant manager of the Atlantic Union Oil Company, at Wellington, who returned by the Mariposa after a seven months’ visit to the United States and Canada. He said his children, who went to school in Wellington, were sent to school in the United States of America during the visit, and they jumped a full form and then finished up their period at the school at the top of their classes. “This says a lot for New Zealand schools,” said Mr. Mills, who was born in the United States. “American teachers were full of praise for the work they did. They were sorry to see them leave, and regarded them as their prize pupils. Among other things they said that both children spoke correctly.”
