SOME NEW FILMS
ACTIVITIES OF THE STARS, BETTE DAVIS'S LATEST. Bette Davis’s ' new picture, “The Letter,” and “The Lady With Red Hair,” starring Miriam Hopkins, were released during November. Another release this month will be “East of the River,” with John Garfield and Marjorie Rambeau. Supporting players in “The Letter” include Herbert Marshall and James Stephenson. “The Lady With Red Hair” calls on the services of Claude Rains, Laura Hope Crews, Mona Barrie, and Helen Westley, in support of Miss Hopkins. “Magic in Music” has been selected as the final title for a new musical film starring Allan Jones and Susanna Foster. The story is about a burlesque songstress who chances to join the National Music Camp, at Interlochen, Michigan. Melvyn Douglas has signed a new long-term contract with M.G.M. His latest film is "Third Fingei. Lef Hand.” , In “Penny Serenade” Cary Grant and Irene Dunne are the stars. Carmen Miranda, of “Down Argentine Way,” is soon to make another musical film, “Rings on Her Fingers.”
