DUKE OF WINDSOR

RADIO SPEECH FROM NASSAU SYMPATHY WITH PEACEFUL MASSES. INNOCENT VICTIMS OF MODERN WARFARE. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) NEW YORK, December 25. The Duke of Windsor, in a radio speech from Nassau, uttered a prayer that an “end of hostilities is not too far distant.” He said: “Britain has again become entangled in the strifes and quarrels of the Old World, where the teachings of the Church and the message of Christmas are unheeded, and where the leaders of great peoples have stirred up in the peaceful masses feelings of hatred which fundamentally they neither feel nor understand. “Our admiration of the gallantry of the fighting forces knows no bounds, but our special sympathy goes out to all who have become the innocent victims of modern warfare.”
