COMMENT ON APPOINTMENT OF LORD HALIFAX. MR EDEN CALLED WARMONGER. (By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright) (Received This Day, 11.50 a.m.) LONDON, December 23. The Berlin radio said Lord Halifax was appointed Ambassador to Washington though half the House of Commons and all the progressive British newspapers had demanded his removal from office. It added that Mr Anthony Eden belonged to the clique of warmongers responsible for the war, and that Captain Margesson’s appointment was an important victory for the Conservative machine, under Mr Churchill.
