Tn recent raids damage has been done to the Middle Temple Library and the structure of the Palace of Westminster. The damage to the Houses of Parliament occurred when. 10 minutes after the custodians of the Palace had completed one of several nightly patrols, a high-explosive bomb and an oil bomb fell and considerably damaged a cloister and court, but fortunately there was no structural damage to the famous crypt. The fire caused by the oil bomb was under control in less than half an hour and a fire which broke out a few hours later was also quickly put out. The damage done by both fires was slight.
