Chiang Kai-Shek’s attempts to secure supplies through South China ports have received a death-blow, declared a spokesman for the Japanese fleet in China waters, in announcing the closing of all ports to all vessels, including Third Power shipping, extending from Hangchow Bay in the north to Pakhoi in the south. The spokesman added that Third Power vessels and crews should evacuate these districts before the blockade becomes effective, at midnight on December 24.
