STRAWBERRY CONSERVE

A RELIABLE RECIPE. Make a syrup by boiling two, cups of sugar to each cup. of water. Boil five minutes, then add berries and simmer 20 minutes. Leave in syrup till next day. Simmer again five minutes, ladle into hot sterilised jars and quickly 7 seal. Sterilise jars by putting into a vessel of cold water and bringing to boiling heat. When fruit is ready, take out one jar at a time, shake water from it, stand on wet cloth (or bind jar with wet cloth) and fill up.
